I never knew that there was an aquarium at the Santa Monica Pier! Apparently, it's UNDER the pier and well... I never noticed the signs until we were invited to JL's 2-year birthday private party there.
On a chilly Sunday morning, we wished JL a Happy Birthday as we sipped on catered Jamba Juice smoothies. There were also some breakfast pizzas and wraps, and JL had a number of mini-cupcakes brought in too. The small conference/play room was decorated with inflatable beach balls and whales painted on the walls, while the intimate exhibit areas were teeming with fish, sea horses, and all kinds of oceanic creatures.
Fun and educational, I loved watching Chase marvel at the fish tanks and all the other little ones learning more about the animals in the aquarium. We'll be back when he's a little older, but in the meantime, I'll be on the search for other cool, kid-friendly places to go in the city I love.
