Girls' Night at The Bazaar

"Philly Cheesesteak", The Bazaar by José Andrés
Now that there's a baby in our lives, it's difficult to get out. So when TW texted me to see if I was free for a Dine LA dinner at José Andrés' restaurant a little while back, I was ecstatic that MS agreed to watch our little man for a couple hours.

And boy, was the food incredible!

We started with the Philly Cheesesteaks on air bread so light and delicate to the touch, filled with cheddar cheese that oozed, and topped with lightly seared wagyu beef and scallions. These mini sandwiches exuded much class and sophistication, yet were absolutely comforting at the same time!

I really wanted a whole bunch of these little babies, but alas... that will have to wait for another time. And there were many other dishes to try.

Not Your Everyday Caprese Salad, The Bazaar by José Andrés
Including, the Caprese salad not part of the Dine LA menu of tapas. But I was so glad we ordered off the menu for this dish!

Our server took great pride in explaining how to eat this salad. He first asked if we had it before. And as we shared that this was our first time there, he smiled with a contagious giddiness. He asked us to please be very gentle in picking up the mozzarella balls filled with liquid that could burst at any moment. He also insisted that we eat all components together to truly appreciate the entire experience.

I had never felt so nervous about eating anything before in my life! I didn't want the little silky and milky ball to pop before it even reached my mouth! That would have been a tragedy indeed!

And he was absolutely right! The flavors and textures were perfectly balanced, but could only be had all together!

Sea Scallops, The Bazaar by José Andrés
Everything ordered was delicious and beautifully plated, including these sea scallops with Romesco sauce. So sweet and tender, again - I wanted to eat an entire platter's worth!

Brussels Sprouts, The Bazaar by José Andrés
Another stand out dish for us was the brussels sprouts with lemon puree, apricots, grapes and lemon air. We were pleasantly surprised that this plate came out last as it proved to be a great palate cleanser, very refreshing and light - getting us in the mood for dessert!

An absolute treat, this dinner was one to remember. Next time, I'll take MS and we'll order a plate full of Philly Cheesesteaks! All we need now is a babysitter!
