My mom threw me a baby shower that she had been planning for well over a year. Yes, even before MS and I got pregnant. We had about 30 close relatives, family friends and girlfriends at the Torrance Miyako Hotel for a lunch with games and prizes.
Above were favors for everyone waiting at the tables - hand soap wrapped nicely in colorful paper topped with a See's lollipop and a pair of white ankle socks rolled up into cute little cupcakes.
Our name cards included what we were having for lunch, and I loved how the cow resembled my own rounded shape. Meanwhile, we played "Rock, Paper, Scissors" with each other as an icebreaker game. I was runner-up and got to eat a bowl of cold buckwheat soba noodles, and the winner got to keep a fist full of wrapped quarters and lottery tickets.
Bento lunch boxes came out with bowls of rice, and I enjoyed eating all my proteins and vegetables - minus all the fried tempura batter, sweet teriyaki sauce and tempting white rice. After all, I was holding out for dessert.

In addition to all the games, prizes, and other details of the afternoon, my mom made cute platters of mini-cupcakes as our table centerpieces. She even brought me a sugar-free pastry made with apples that was delicious and fruit because of my special diet. I did, however, sneak in a mini red velvet cupcake too!
YUM!
It was a wonderfully fun and memorable time!
{Thanks Mom!}

MS and I opened all the wonderful and generous gifts once at home, and we felt truly blessed to be surrounded by so much love and support. I can't even imagine how long it took my girlfriend JT to make this amazing diaper cake filled with USC goodies... Baby S has his first Trojan jersey, matching cap and Traveler the Horse rattle ~ ready for his first tailgate!
