I blame the neighbors.
You could just smell the barbecued meat wafting in through the side window. It's on warm days like these, when the sun's out with a slight breeze and summer is just around the corner... that I wish we had a patio, a deck, an area to grill.
But we live in a small space and tonight, I was craving Korean BBQ.
We thought of driving to Koreatown, but decided to try this small local restaurant that's just a few blocks away and I'm glad we did.
We placed two orders of shrimp for a total of ten pieces, the Tokyo BBQ Mix A with three types of premium meats that came five to an order, a large mushroom, slice of corn on the cob, a shishito pepper and thick onion slice, and two large bowls of white rice.
Not your typical Korean restaurant with many side dishes, we were given three items for our pan-chan: bean sprouts, pickled radish and sesame spinach.
Thankfully, MS wasn't very hungry as he had a late lunch and I was able to have a good share of the deliciously tender and high quality meat and shrimp from the charcoal grill.
Not overwhelming as some of the all-you-can-eat joints, this Japanese owned restaurant will be my go-to place to satisfy my Korean BBQ cravings!
