BoLA's second resolution:
To give pho a chance.
But I am a creature of habit, and I enjoy ordering the same dish at my favorite places.
Our rotation of good eats includes one of West LA's Vietnamese restaurants - Pho 99 Noodle & Grill. It's a casual place we like to go for a quick meal, where UCLA students mix with those who work and live on the West side of town.
MS loves pho, and for the life of me, I don't know why I just can't get into it. I mean, I love all kinds of noodles... all that is, but pho. I've tried at least three different bowls of pho in the Midwest which left me unconvinced. Maybe it's something in the broth, maybe it's all the cilantro, or maybe I'm just missing out on something great when I order the same meal - barbeque pork with rice.
So in this new year, I'm willing to give pho another chance.
