The Reception Where Love Never Fails

Our Paradise Cake, King's Hawaiian Bakery

No fancy country club wedding for us, just an intimate garden wedding.

No band or DJ, just our iPod playlists.

No filet mignon or chicken dijon on the menu, just some good local kine grinds.

No Food Network Challenge Wedding Cakes, just one of our favorites from King's Hawaiian Bakery - a Paradise Cake with gum paste plumerias.

spam musubi, back home in lahaina, carson

Our menu included a platter of spam musubi...

fried wontons, back home in lahaina, carson

Crispy fried wontons...

lomi lomi salmon, back home in lahaina, carson

Fresh Lomi Lomi Salmon...

As well as macaroni salad, ramen cabbage salad, kalbi short ribs, korean barbecue chicken, lahaina fried chicken, kalua pork, vegetable fried rice, white rice and steamed vegetables on the menu.

For all the kids and kids-at-heart, we set up a self-serve candy bar with some of our favorites to put in take away boxes - sour candy twists, runts, skittles, dark chocolates, and butterscotch candies were a few.

And as our matron of honor and best man gave their speeches, we raised our glasses of pink sparking wine. We kissed and knew that it was the beginning of an incredible lifetime of love, laughter, and good eats.

Congrats. Huge congrats. Weddings are always all about the food. Seems everyone's getting married this August. I wanted danger dogs at the reception, but so far, am being vetoed.

That cake is sooo gorgeous, I had no hint it would be from Kings, but man I will keep note of that, because that would mean it tastes good too. (I tend to dislike wedding cake taste so much that I do not even want one)

Great food photos! I attend many such elegant backyard wedding events and your caterer was well chosen. My company rents iPod sound systems for weddings and other parties. Includes a microphone for toasts! We are new in LA, but keep us in mind for friends weddings or other parties that need great Do-it-yourself Audio Visual Rentals.
