It's hard to believe that it's 2009, but I know this year will be full of great change and hope.
It's the eve of President-Elect Barack Obama's Inauguration and my cousin is a witness to this historic event in DC.
MS and I will be sharing our love with our families and friends as we say, "I Do" to spending our lives together.
I'm hopeful that this year will be better than the last, and I'm hoping to post more of my BoLA finds and adventures in this New 2009!
Before the holidays, I was invited to the LA Chamber Orchestra and was able to experience an evening of great music led by Conductor Jeffrey Kahane. During the second half of the night, the audience was treated to a musical master in Makoto Nakura on the marimba.
Nakura wowed us with his skills on the marimba and ended the night with multiple encores, including my favorite of the night - his rendition of "Ave Maria" that left me speechless and close to tears.
It's said that music can help save the world. It has a universal language that speaks directly to the heart and soul. It reminds you that through all the chaos and all the ugliness, life is beautiful and full of unwavering hope.
