I may suffer from lactose intolerance but am a sucker for anything made with dairy - especially ice cream.
About a year ago, I was introduced to a wonderfully sophisticated, little milk shop in Los Angeles called Milk. And I can't get enough!
Owner Bret Thompson, who was the former corporate executive chef of Patina, always greets you with a smile and welcomes you into his shop like you're family. His ice cream and milk sensations, along with more "grown-up" menu items like his soups and salads, are refreshing and always a treat.
Last week, I stopped in with a friend for a late night dessert. I didn't see Billy Crystal at Milk this visit, but was able to talk of Parisian walks with Bret and learn more about his life abroad and his family at home. Truly, a down to earth kind of guy who instantly becomes your friend.
With our lattes, we had some cookies and milkies - my favorites being the Ooey Gooey Double Chocolate Chip, Snickerdoodle, and the Chocolate Chip (all of the above!) cookies and the bite sized chocolate covered ice cream bonbons. Affectionately known as milkies, they were the perfect ending to our dinner out.
For dairy lovers and ice cream aficionados, Angelinos can get together and enjoy these delicious creations at Milk's Open House. Partnered with the Got Milk® team, Bret will share his creamy concoctions on Tuesday, May 20th from 5 to 7pm.I look forward to tasting his Latin-inspired Berry Tres Leches and learning more about his secret ingredients that make up his milk inspirations!

Hey! I fwd'd this to the gang...hopefully we'll have a mini-reunion at MILK.
Hey Jeni! Yay for mini-reunions!!! We need them more often, for sure! Can't wait to see the gang again!
I am a keen reader of food blogs but just stumbled upon yours. I really like the clean design and simple layout. I started blogging myself a year ago and always thought that clean design was key. The fact that you also have good photos does help a lot. I have just started a website for bloggers, chefs and foodies to meet and share all their photos, recipes and videos called www.ifoods.tv. Anyway keep the great work up on the blog, have it bookmarkd now and talk soon. Cheers
what a neat place. i wish i was in LA this month to check it out! ah well, in a few months.. sadly, there are no chocolate chip cookies in taipei (american style) like there are abundantly in the states. i'd even eat mrs. fields.
I got the email about the event too! Will prolly show up there around 6p-ish.
I am a Japanese. I send this site in search of joy to meet you from Japan. It is a Japanese site to understand it in various ways, but I feel joy about the encounter with you.
Hey Private Chef! Thanks for stumbling by! Will definitely check your iFoods site! Sounds delish!
Hey joanh! Eep! I love Mrs. Fields too... a childhood sweet treat! I remember entering a children's drawing contest and winning a tin full of mini chocolate chip cookies! :)
Hey H.C.! See you there!!! Can't wait to finally meet you!
Hey Nipsum! Wish I knew my Japanese better... four semester in college didn't help too much! Thanks for stopping by!
