E Street Cafe, Encinitas

Encinitas Beach

MS and I took a mini-adventure out to the city of Encinitas and found this beautiful beach view right down the street from the local coffee shop we found that afternoon, E Street Cafe. A great find, we stopped in for some organic fair trade coffee and a couple of rounds of Scrabble.

E Street CafeThe coffee shop is also home to a number of local artists, whose paintings hang on the walls. And it has a great creative and down-to-earth vibe to it. In one corner of the shop, there's a small stage where local musicians set up for a few numbers on any given night.

We were fortunate to have visited E Street Cafe on a night with Justin Froese from Encinitas, who had some smooth acoustic sounds.

There's nothing better than a relaxing afternoon with a serendipitous sunset by the beach, a warm cup of delicious coffee, and some music to pass the time.

My folks still live down there in Oceanside, so I make my way to Carlsbad, Encinitas and Del Mar often. I remember being young watching my brother play guitar at open-mic night at E Street.

There's a few good Chow-worthy destinations down there, but all of the names escape me except for The Brigantine, whose oyster bar overlooks the Del Mar Racetrack.

Hey Pirikara! It's a bit of a drive from LA... just north of San Diego. But well worth the adventure!

Hey Anuhea! Nothing beats Hawaii though... ;)

Hey Taste-Buzz! Ooo... lucky! Oceanside is really nice!!! Is your brother still playing? I *need* to pick up the guitar and start practicing again... LOL!

Hmmm.is that near "D-street" bar and grill?

funny story, a few months ago I was visiting my cousins in Encinitas and we wanted to go drinking...so we had his mom and my mom drop us off at D-Street bar and grill..they were wearing their pajamas....felt like high school all over again!

they had a junky mexican restaurant across from there that was pretty good.....

Hey Xericx! I would imagine that E Street Cafe is just down the way from "D Street." ;) Oh... high school days are great! Gotta love our designated drivers!

e-street is what all coffee diggs should aspire to be. next do the beach, local music and art, OG menu with local blends.

we need more of these. i enjoyed myself there
