Jazz & Happy Hour at Maggiano's

There's nothing like the soft sexy sounds of jazz to set the mood for relaxation and some smooth cocktails.

A few weeks ago, I went with JS and MLS to Maggiano's Little Italy restaurant for some drinks and quick eats in their Happy Hour Lounge. From 4:00-6:30pm M-F, you can get some cheap eats for $1.95 and premium mixed drinks for a couple more dollars. Lucky for us, JS was somewhat of a celebrity there and our drinks were made extra strong.

After getting the email notice of their fall specials, I knew that I wanted to try the Butternut Squash Raviloi. I love ravioli (and prefer them filled with cheese or spinach in a pink sauce) and ordered a half order that came in a smaller portion. Somewhat disappointed, I found the ravioli to be very sweet and not to my palate. Next time, I know to pass on this particular dish and try something more appetizing. Other eats we ordered included a Caeser Salad, Cheeese Pizza, Fried Zucchini, and some Tomatoes with Mozerella and Basil. Nothing too impressive or fancy, we stuck with some simple bar eats. Good food that's not GREAT. But for just a few dollars, it was quite the steal and who am I to complain?
