Woke up this morning, craving more Japanese food. Before heading to Mitsuwa, I went to Ramen-ya with Ba-chan and AM. It's a small noodle shop on the West side of LA on Olympic, just west of Sawtelle. A cousin of mine introduced me to this quaint and yummy restaurant several years ago, and I frequent it whenever I want some authentic nihonjin ramen.
AM and I ordered our usual Shoyu Ramen (noodles in a soy sauce broth with slices of pork) while Ba-chan ordered the Cold Noodles, and we all shared a plate of Pork Fried Rice. If it's any indicator, there was nothing left on our plates except for some broth in our bowls.
Ramenya is unassuming with a few tables, but gets pretty crowded during the lunch rush. Parking is somewhat tricky too, with a few meters on Olympic, and a couple spots in the parking lot next to the restaurant. I got lucky today and scored a free spot! Prices are inexpensive and the food - delicious! Definitely, one of LA's best ramen-ya's!
